Melvin Bass is the founding owner of Winco Masonry. With over 50 years of industry experience, Melvin is the guiding force behind Winco’s lengthy history of growth and success. Through his hard work, priorities and goals, Melvin built a firm that is synonymous with excellence in masonry construction. Instilling this ethic as a company motto, Melvin has shaped Winco into an organization that is filled with talent and steeped in pride.

Serving as the cornerstone of Winco’s field operations, Melvin remains actively involved in current projects and continues to set the bar high, demanding the highest of standards in regard to project safety, field productivity and customer relations.

Actively involved in promoting the future of the masonry industry, Melvin is involved in several professional organizations, donating his time and resources to promote masonry construction at the state and national levels.

Gerald Guzman joined Winco Masonry in 1982, gaining valuable knowledge and operations experience by working in the field as a mason apprentice. In 1985, Gerald was appointed Vice President in the estimating department, where his responsibilities included pricing and bidding projects in Texas and various other states.

In 2006, Gerald stepped into the role of President and owner. During his tenure of leadership, Gerald has compiled an impressive team of talent and greatly expanded Winco’s operations. Passionate about building with integrity and building a loyal client base, Gerald strives to inspire his managers, field personnel and staff to consistently produce a team effort that delivers excellent results. With his determined focus on growth strategies and customer satisfaction, Gerald has helped to secure Winco’s solid reputation as one of Houston’s leading masonry firms.

With tremendous pride in his profession, Gerald has dedicated his energy to promoting Winco and the masonry industry as a whole, lending his enthusiasm and knowledge to numerous industry organizations. Among his many professional affiliations, Gerald is involved with the Texas Masonry Council (TMC) and the Associated Masonry Contractors of Houston (AMCH), serving as Vice President of the AMCH from 1994-1995, followed by his role as President of the organization from 1995-1996.

Adrian Guzman joined Winco Masonry in 1991. After gaining invaluable experience as a mason and project foreman, Adrian was appointed to Estimator in 2000, then Vice President in 2005. With his in-depth knowledge of project construction, Adrian is uniquely qualified in evaluating bid specifications and drawings, following up with general contractors and working closely with Winco’s Project Management team.

Serving as the head of Winco’s estimating department, Adrian is a crucial component of every project’s success, using his broad experience to consistently deliver thoroughly comprehensive and highly competitive bids. With a lengthy history in masonry construction, Adrian’s portfolio of impressive bids includes Reliant Stadium, Rice University and Clear Creek ISD’s Educational Village—the largest public school in America.

As a dedicated and proactive member of the masonry industry, Adrian devotes his time to professional growth and to developing and modernizing bid techniques and computer technologies. In addition, Adrian is an active member of the Associated Masonry Contractors of Houston (AMCH) and the Texas Masonry Council (TMC).

After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Engineering from Texas Tech University, Joe Guzman joined the company as an Estimator in 2011. In addition to his specialized education, Joe has worked for Winco in numerous capacities for most of his life. Throughout his high school and college years, Joe spent his summers working as a laborer and a mason apprentice, earning the very important benefit of practical construction experience while gaining a true appreciation for the dedication and talent that is required in the field.

In his position as Estimator, Joe plays a critical role in Winco’s future growth, focusing his talents on securing projects, expanding Winco’s market share and maintaining solid client relationships. Active in several industry organizations, Joe is a proud member of the Associated Masonry Contractors Association of Houston (AMCH) and the Texas Masonry Council (TMC).

Jason Randolph is a graduate of Texas A&M University – College Station, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Science. Upon joining Winco in 2002, Jason was already a seasoned veteran, working for two large general contractors since graduating in 1992, who understood the complexity of managing and building multi-million dollar construction projects. Employing a highly developed management style combined with an unparalleled attention to detail and organization, Jason is adept at coordinating and supervising multiple projects from the conceptual stage through the final completion.

Delivering exceptional results on each of his projects, Jason’s commendable portfolio includes: Cy Fair High School, Katy High School and Clear Creek ISD’s Education Village—a uniquely designed 144 acre campus that brings together a comprehensive high school, intermediate school and elementary school on a single site.

In addition to his impressive work credentials and merits, Jason has also demonstrated a dedication to industry leadership through his participation in the Associated Masonry Contractors of Houston (AMCH). In this capacity, Jason has served as Vice President of the AMCH from 2006-2008, followed by his term as President from 2008-2010, and currently serves on the Board of Directors as a Contractor Representative.

Josué Hernandez earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Science from Texas A&M University-College Station. After joining Winco Masonry in 2004, Josué brought several years of industry experience with him and emerged as a vital component of Winco’s success, serving as the backbone for a wide array of award-winning projects all over the state of Texas. With his extensive technical knowledge of stone and masonry construction and his diverse experience of handling multi-million dollar federal, commercial and residential projects, Josué has a proven track record of insuring project quality, profitability and client satisfaction.Gifted in his ability to bring about optimum project outcomes while managing the challenges of complex and intricate construction, some of Josué’s notable projects include: The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts Building, Texas Tech University’s Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, and the El Paso Federal Courthouse.

Dedicated to remaining on the forefront of emerging industry practices, Josué is also an active member of the Associated Masonry Contractors Association of Houston (AMCH) and the Texas Masonry Council (TMC).

As General Field Superintendant, Bobby Bass is the head of Winco’s field operations and safety controls. With an extensive background as a former union mason and project foreman, Bobby brings over 30 years of experience to the table, managing a large workforce and overseeing projects in excess of ten million dollars. In addition to his managerial role, Bobby is also a mentor who inspires his team toward excellence, training and encouraging them to exemplify and pursue the highest of industry standards.

With his unmatched work ethic and his dedicated on-site commitment to maintaining high levels of project safety as priority number one, Bobby enforces strict standards of quality construction, safety measures and superior oversight at each of his project locations.
